Rally Around the Baltic Sea: How Two Supporters Are Raising €25,000 for Global H2O

Some Global H2O supporters work hard to raise money. Others raise money by having fun!

Arndt Gaube and Christian Hardes are racing in a rally around the Baltic Sea to raise money for Global H2O. As “Team Champagne Supernova”, the two are participating in the Baltic Sea Circle Winter Edition 2020,  a race of over 7,500 kilometers around the Baltic Sea. Starting in Hamburg, Germany on February 22, the course takes the teams through 10 countries as far as Nordkapp, the northern most point of Norway, well above the Arctic Circle. Teams must meet certain requirements to participate. They are not allowed to navigate via GPS and are not allowed to drive on highways. The cars must be at least 15 years old and equipped to handle the harsh winter conditions where they can expect temperatures as cold as -30°C.

Arndt and fellow GH2O fan Boris Terwey drove the same course two years ago and raised enough money to build a well in Africa. This year, Arndt has upped the stakes. With a fundraising initiative on www.betterplace.org, he set a goal of €25,000 – and reached it a week before the planned start of the rally! Arndt is not only a skilled rally driver, he’s also a great fundraiser.

The Global H2O team and community wish Arndt and Christian all the best for their Baltic Sea adventure. Gentlemen, start your engines!
